In 2013 many of us saw, heard and experienced many new ideas in education. Maybe it was through technology, flipped classrooms, integration of technology in education, collaboration with many outstanding educators across the globe through the use of social media. Perhaps it was just learning about new best practice, like formative assessment, questioning techniques or feedback or maybe it was something aligned to the new Common Core, like close reading strategies. Whatever it was we learned, the key is not in the learning, but rather in the application of that new knowledge and there is no better time then now, as we start the new year.
No matter what your new ideas or initiatives are, they are always better served if they are shared with others, whether a success or a failure, because the best way for us all to move forward is through collaboration and by moving forward together. Remember change is never easy and it is often failure that leads us to greater success. One thing I know for sure is that as Einstein said, "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." Those things that have always worked, may still work, but with the changing times in education and the rapid growth of technology, what once worked in the past is not guaranteed to work in the future and the world that we prepared for when we were students no longer exists.
Join us Sunday night at 8 pm on #edchatri, as we look at what we have done that worked, that didn't work and what changes we will be making in 2014 to find greater success for ourselves, our teachers and most importantly our students. Let's work together to Set a Clear Vision for 2014.
