In advance of next weekend's Goggle Apps for Education Summit in Coventry RI, we will have two guest moderators joining us from California, Ken Shelton (@k_shelton) and Holly Clark (@HollyClarkEdu). Ken is a Google Certified Teacher and an Apple Distinguished Educator. You can learn more about Ken @ http://kennethshelton.net. Holly is a Google Certified Teacher and Trainer, NBCT, Keynote speaker. She is also the Co-founder#caedchat and #eduslam.
The focus of the Summit will be on Making Thinking Visible. Visible Thinking is a flexible and systematic research-based approach to integrating the development of students' thinking with content learning across subject matters. An extensive and adaptable collection of practices, Visible Thinking has a double goal: on the one hand, to cultivate students' thinking skills and dispositions, and, on the other, to deepen content learning. By thinking dispositions, we mean curiosity, concern for truth and understanding, a creative mindset, not just being skilled but also alert to thinking and learning opportunities and eager to take them - Visible Thinking
This Sunday's chat and the GAFE Summit is for teachers, school leaders and administrators in K - 12 schools who want to encourage the development of a culture of thinking in their classrooms and schools. Join us at either or both learning opportunities as we delve deeper into how we make Thinking Visible and how technology can help us with this process. Join #EdChatRI - Sunday night @ 8 pm.
