As 45 states and 3 territories transition to the Common Core State Standards, what are you doing as educators to prepare yourself. What exactly are the Common Core State Standards, what do they mean to all of us as educators and more importantly what will they mean for our students. Are these unifying standards long overdue or are they just what we need to place our country back up in the upper echelon of education in the world. Join us Sunday night at 8 PM as we share and prepare for this very important transition in the American Educational System.
The only constant in life and in education is change. For many though, change can be a scary thing. How do we first determine that change is necessary and then how do we go about making change happen and getting others on board. Join us on Sunday night at 8 PM on #edchatri, as we discuss this frightful topic, in the Halloween season.
Many in the world of education still do not completely understand what RtI truly is and more importantly what role it plays for all of us in education. RtI is not a verb - you don’t “RtI a kid”, it is not TST…with a new name! It is not a way to delay Special Education services or something that only Special Educators do. It is Universal Screening and Ongoing Progress Monitoring and FORMATIVE assessments. It is Tier I/Core Instruction, Data‐Based Decision Making and Tiered Interventions. Join us Sunday night at 8 to talk all about RtI and what we all need to be doing to best support our students success.
Many in education look at Math, Literacy and graduation rates as the key areas of focus and how we measure our success. I would argue that those numbers are directly related to the relationships that we build with our students. When students have a safe, secure environment where they are able to focus on the learning, then and only then can they achieve to their greatest potential. Join us this Sunday night at 8 PM as we look closely at how relationships influence and affect all of us in the field of education.
